Spilanthium™ is an unusual, edible, dried fruit leather chip made from organic Spilanthes flowers & other organic fruits. It will likely make you salivate more intensely than anything else you might ever put in your mouth. Accordingly, Spilanthium is the ultimate cottonmouth killer!
The main ingredient - Acmella oleracea - is a species of flowering herb in
the family Asteraceae. Common names include Spilanthes, Toothache Plant, Paracress, Sichuan Buttons, Buzz Buttons, Ting Flowers and Electric Daisy.
As a bush plant used for treating toothache, the analgesic effect of Spilanthes has been attributed to the presence of constituents containing an N-isobutylamide moiety, such as Spilanthol, a substance that has been found to be an agent that promotes salivation.
Careful…each little square of dehydrated plant matter might make you drool so
much you might not be able to speak properly for a few minutes after consuming! Start by taking a very small nibble off of one square. Chew it up a bit, mixing it with your saliva, then keep in under your tongue or between your gum and teeth for a few minutes. The more you chew on it and mix it with your saliva, the stronger it gets. Once you learn how strong it is you can increase your dosage. Be warned: Spilanthium™ will overpower the taste of anything else you put in your mouth…so avoid consuming it before or during meals or when drinking alcohol. It’s also advisable to not eat a large
dose of Spilanthium™ before important speaking engagements…as large doses can result in more saliva leaving your mouth than words.
While we make no health claims for Spilanthium™ laboratory research does
suggest a large number of potential health benefits. We encourage you to learn more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acmella_oleracea
• Spilanthium™ may be of extraordinary value to those who suffer from xerostomia (zeer-o-STOE-me-uh), a condition in which the salivary glands don't make enough saliva to keep the mouth wet. Dry mouth is often due to the side effects of certain medications or aging issues or as a result of radiation therapy for cancer. Some people find that even a tiny portion of Spilanthium™ can relieve xerostomia.
• Some people find that Spilanthium™ can be used to minimize mild toothache
discomfort. To explore this potential, chew it up, making sure to mix it with lots of saliva, then stick the resulting paste right on or near the aching tooth for as long as possible.
• Our personal experience suggests that Spilanthium™ can help facilitate sublingual absorption of some health supplements and medicines.
• Give that Spilanthium™ promotes intense salivary action, some find that it's a novel and much-valued addition to intimacy. ‘Nuff said ;-)
Dehydrated, organic Spilanthes flowers and other organic fruit. Most
batches are made with banana. Once in a while we make Spilanthium™ with organic peaches or blueberries and each package will be labeled accordingly.
Spilanthes flowers contain tiny seeds, so if you are on a seed-free diet you might want to avoid eating Spilanthium™
Given that this is an organic plant product with no preservatives it is advisable
to keep Spilanthium™ dry and also away from excessive heat or light. Refrigerate for long-term storage…especially if you are in hot/humid climates.
